Time is running out for Moray’s community groups, charities and social enterprises to apply for a share of a £13K funding pot that will focus on recovery in the community.

#YouChoose3 is a Moray-wide participatory budgeting (PB) initiative that allows members of the public to decide how £13,000 should be spent, and the deadline for applications is now just a few days away (24 October 2018).

#YouChoose3 gives community members the opportunity to propose, develop, and vote for projects that will improve health and wellbeing in relation to recovery and the prevention of alcohol and drug related harm. Through the programme, projects can apply for between £500 and £1500 to improve the lives of people in Moray.

tsiMORAY, as part of Moray Alcohol and Drug Partnership (MADP) is working with Moray Wellbeing Hub CIC and Scottish Recovery Network to deliver the programme which is in its third year. The partnership has resulted in an application process based around the themes of CHIME (Connections, Hope and Optimism, Identity, Meaning and Empowerment) and locally identified outcomes.

Holly Hendry, Network Officer for the North of Scotland at Scottish Recovery Network said: “Central to SRN’s work is collaboration and supporting the development of recovery and wellbeing approaches that are relevant to local communities. Using CHIME and tying in with local priorities as part of the application process ensures that together we can make recovery real and sustainable for the people of Moray.”

Heidi Tweedie, Champion and Director at Moray Wellbeing Hub CIC said: “Through small actions everyone can make a difference to creating big change in Moray.”

Elidh Brown, Health and Wellbeing Team Coordinator at tsiMORAY said: “We are delighted to be working with Moray Wellbeing Hub and Scottish Recovery Network in this round, and to continue our work as part of Moray Alcohol and Drugs Partnership.

“Together we can involve more people in local decision making, bring greater choice to people in Moray in terms of services, and provide further opportunities for Moray’s wider third sector.”
