The Living Wage – why pay it?

Moray Foodbank have joined forces with Business Gateway to organise a free breakfast event during Moray Business Week and Living Wage Week.

The real Living Wage is based on the cost of living and is voluntarily paid by over 4,400 UK employers who believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Many employers lack knowledge of the Living Wage and this seminar aims to dispel the myths around it and the benefits to businesses achieved by paying staff the Living Wage.

Speakers on the day will include Craig Robertson from Business Gateway, Jennifer Robertson from Spey, and Lauren Grant from UMS Ltd. Both Jennifer and Lauren are accredited Living Wage employers and will share their experience and the difference it has made to their business.

The event is being held at the Beechtree Restaurant, Moray College from 8am to 9.30am next Tuesday, 6 November, with a free breakfast being provided. To register visit Eventbrite or Moray Foodbank’s Facebook page; for more information contact Moray Foodbank on 01343 208293.
