MORAY HAS AGAIN been targeted by police under their Operation CEDAR – designed to challenge, educate, detect and reduce drink driving offences.
North East division officers conducted high-visibility patrols over the weekend in Moray and Aberdeenshire – resulting in four motorists being reported for drink driving offences, three of them in Moray.
Three of the offenders were found to be more than four times over the drink drive limit – and as a result three male and one female driver have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in their respective areas.
Road Policing Sergeant Rob Warnock said: “We will continue to carry out Road Policing operations to attempt to deter and detect drink driving in our communities, however, it’s disappointing to see drivers almost 4 times over the drink drive limits and the potential consequences that can occur.
“Road Safety is a priority for Police Scotland and we will continue to encourage drivers to take responsibility for their driving.”
