Motorcyclist injured in Forres bypass accident

Car and motorcycle crash on the Forres bypass.

EMERGENCY SERVICES HAVE been responding to a serious accident involving a car and a motorcycle on the A96 this evening.

Crews were called at around 6pm on the Forres Bypass close to the junction with the A940 – on arrival ambulance staff assessed that the motorcyclist required immediate transfer to hospital.

Meanwhile the road was closed to eastbound traffic. Diversions have been set taking traffic through Forres town centre – westbound traffic is still being streamed along the A96.

A police spokesman said that they were in attendance with an ambulance crew, adding: “The motorcyclists has been taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital for a check-up – there were no injuries to anyone in the car.”
