THE GROWING REPUTATION of tourism in Moray and Speyside has been the result of major strides in recent years to promote the region around the world.

Studies from such as TripAdvisor has shown that the region is moving in an upward direction – major events such as Piping At Forres and the Spirit of Speyside Festival contributing to many thousands each year visiting and enjoying all that we have to offer.

Now many of the businesses and individuals who have helped in the growth of the vital tourism industry have an opportunity to be recognised for their hard work and dedication with the forthcoming Moray Speyside Tourism Awards.

Aimed at anyone who runs or works in a Tourism business and who has made a positive impact on the community, the awards invite nominations ahead of a gala lunch at the Stotfield Hotel in Lossiemouth on Wednesday, November 16.

Nominations are sought for the Community Tourism Award and Tourism Business Award. The Community award celebrates businesses that have demonstrated a clear vision for progressing tourism within their communities, involving volunteers, integrating with the tourism sector and engaging their communities

The Business Award is given in recognition of businesses which have contributed significantly to tourism development across Moray Speyside. This could be by creating new effective marketing campaigns, being committed to collaboration and partnership working or by demonstrating the benefits of staff development.

The deadline for submitting award applications to Sarah Medcraf (smedcraf@moraychamber.co.uk) are on Friday, October 7 at 5pm.
