Moray cyclists get the new season off to a flying start

TWO YOUNG MORAY CYCLISTS have further enhanced already growing reputations at a major event in Stirling last weekend.

Georgia Mansfield and Kyle Cartmell, who are both recent recruits to the Scottish Cycling Team, walked away with top prizes at the Corrieri’s Classic 10-mile time trial event.

For Georgia there was cause for a double celebration as the victory came on her 18th birthday.

Both graduated in the sport through the Forres Cycling Club with Georgia rewarded her sponsors, Central Investment, Springfield Properties and Wired Orthodontics, with a dominant win in the junior female category, completing the 10 miles in 25:44.  Kyle, meanwhile, won second prize in the youth category.

The race is the first significant event of the 2017 cycling season and for Georgia follows a long winter of training without the advantage of competition at the end of it.  The Moray pair are now cycle for the RT23 team, who boasted four places in Sunday’s event.
