Moray coastal town is a holiday hit

Cullen has emerged as Scotland’s top coastal town – and thanks to the approval ratings providing to a leading lettings agency, it is No. 2 in the United Kingdom.

The Moray town is second only to Budleigh Salterton on Devon’s Jurassic Coast according to returns supplied to TripAdvisor’s ‘Holiday Lettings.’

In the ‘UK Top Ten’ list of the beach and seaside destinations, Cullen took the Scottish crown ahead of three other Scottish destinations on the list – Broadford, Lower Largo and Nairn.  Also in the top ten were Northern Ireland destinations Castlerock, Newcastle and Portrush, with the Welsh town of Amroth just making the top ten.

Cullen scored an approval rating of 4.94 while the Devon resort scored 4.95.

Holiday Lettings said of the Moray town “sandy beaches, great golf courses and scenic walks” were high on the comments of visitors, while Wildlife enthusiasts “will have the chance to spot puffins and dolphins from the shore.”  Holiday Lettings added: “Foodies can sample the village’s famous smoked haddock and potato soup, ‘Cullen Skink’.”

Laurel Greatrix, a spokesperson for Holiday Lettings, said holidaymakers headed to coastal destinations could expect great value when booking holiday rentals: “Rentals are fantastic options for beach and seaside getaways,” continues Laurel. “Booking a rental lets travellers enjoy the comforts and amenities of home, like extra space, living rooms, and kitchens while on holiday.”
