Man appears in court in connection with October Elgin attack

POLICE IN ELGIN have confirmed that a 55-year-old male has been charged in connection with the alleged serious assault of a woman in the town on October 26.

The man was due to make an initial appearance at Elgin Sheriff Court today after the 44-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries in the Woodside Terrace area.

She is still receiving treatment at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. On Thursday the man was detained and subsequently charged in connection with the incident.
