Finderne Development Trust starts community consultation

Finderne Development Trust Board

The Board of the recently established Finderne Development Trust (FDT), funded by the community benefit fund from Logie wind farm, has announced the start of a community engagement and consultation programme.

Speaking on behalf of the Trust, John Cudworth (FDT Board Director), explains

“Finderne covers a wide geographical area from Burgie and Rafford in the north to Dunphail and the Knock of Braemoray in the south. Our aim is to develop long-term, legacy type, projects that benefit the local community and to do that we need to understand what people want.

This is a really important stage for the development trust and over the next few months we will be working hard to get as much input from people as possible to help shape our plans”.

To support this work the FDT have contracted Dingwall-based consultants, Athena Solutions, to design and implement the community engagement process which will result in a document outlining a 20-year vision for the Finderne area and a detailed 5-year action plan.

Hazel Allen, Managing Partner of Athena Solutions, expressed her enthusiasm for the work

“We are delighted to be working with Finderne Development Trust on this exciting opportunity to help the community set its vision for the future. At Athena we pride ourselves in helping communities to make their voice heard and we look forward to meeting as many people as possible to hear their views”.

The engagement programme, which will take around 6 months to complete, will include surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews and public meetings.
